vika_poledance Another tool for creating combos and transitions!

I pick point A - in this case, the pirouette, and point B - where I want to land on the floor. Then I explore different ways to get from A to B.

1️⃣ First, I move to the outside leg by flying around the pole and end up on the floor.
2️⃣ Next, I move to the inside leg by doing a dip step, which creates a different path to the floor.
3️⃣ Then, I try a completely different way out of the pirouette, like a back spin, and reach the floor.

vika_poledance No matter how hard I try to fight perfectionism, I just can’t beat it. It’s like an obsessive thought - it’s either perfect or nothing. Only someone like me will get that😅

I filmed this video, got annoyed with my face, my unengaged arms, and everything else… so it ended up just being this edited version.

How do you manage not to overthink everything? What do you do when you see something you don’t like in your dancing?

vika_poledance I watch this choreo and it looks so slow! Even though when I was dancing it, it didn’t feel that way (only at the very beginning, that part is actually slow).

So I started thinking why it looks like that, and I realized: most of the moves are big and wide, but also fast. I mean there are no detailed or isolated ones. So it looks slow from the side, but when you dance it, you actually have to make each move big and still hit the timing. That’s why it feels fast while dancing, but looks slow in the video😁

I usually come up with combos when I’m wearing pants – somehow it gives me more ideas:)
First, movements look more dynamic and wide. Second, I can be more relaxed about soft knees and flat feet.

Later I clean it up and adapt it for bare legs

I’m always carrying a huge bag with heels and clothes, and since it’s already cold, I wear this big coat. And I love ripped stuff… so basically, homeless style, бомж chic

First, when I go train I always take pants and shorts, because I never know the mood. This time I forgot shorts, and I just didn’t feel like dancing in pants:)) So I spent 1.5 hours trying to come up with something – nothing worked. At the very end I played this random track and this routine was born.

Second, doing dynamic turns on the toe box and then flowing smoothly into another move is tough (even for a pirouette queen😁) – foot gets sweaty and slips. Feels like you’re just dancing on the platform, with the shoes hanging on by tiny straps😄

Usually I don’t post such training videos, but I like how my hair is flying here💅
