I’d never realised how much people were triggered by corporate lives until I started sharing my corporate girly diaries on Instagram. “Why are you wasting your life on this?” “Do you realize that work is not the most important thing?” “Hope this life never finds me, it’s depressing!” “I did corporate just like you, you are heading towards burnout, trust me.” I’m sorry, but did I miss the memo when we all stopped working and skipping our mortgage payments, travel expenses, restaurant bills and new clothing collection receipts? Also, if you did corporate and hated it, you realise that your journey is not the only option, right? You can actually find a job (tasks, people, values, perks) you enjoy and yes, it can still be challenging, exhausting and draining because no one promised it’d be easy. What’s important is to be in line with what you want and choose for yourself. I choose normalizing 9 to 5 on social media, because I have a luxury of doing so. If you don’t like this for you, I respect that. Paris is really putting my queueing intolerance to the test! 😁 Every time I came to this place, I had to wait 30+ minutes… But I have to admit, it was worth it every single time! A colleague told me that the bouillon business model relies on high table turnover, so to keep things moving, you roughly have 1.5 hours to enjoy your comfort food before it’s time to leave. In my experience, they serve everything super fast, but I never felt rushed. (But I’m a quick eater, so keep that in mind!) Send this reel to your bestie and make sure to try the foie gras or escargots, boeuf bourguignon or confit de canard, and chocolate mousse or île flottante. Those are my personal favourites! I’m forever grateful for the amount of beauty Paris has subjected me to in these few months I’ve been lucky enough to call it home. Strolling through those streets after a warm latte and a crispy pain suisse, we’d often find ourselves wandering into one of these beautiful places and spending hours soaking in art - surrounded by masterpieces and yet paying exactly zero! There’s something about Paris that makes even an ordinary afternoon feel like a little piece of “art” you’ll want to remember. I miss it already. ♥️
