the_ply Every new piece in the THEPLY collection begins as a prototype made for ourselves. Walker was no exception. The very first table found its place in our studio, where it faced the most demanding test possible — everyday use.

This stage allows us to evaluate far more than ergonomics, stability, and structural performance. It helps us understand the true amount of time, craftsmanship, and attention required to create each piece. Only then does a design become part of the collection, with a price that reflects the reality of its production and the quality of its execution.

Walker starts as a flat sheet material. Individual components are precision-cut and assembled into a monolithic spatial structure. Every element is then refined by hand: surfaces are carefully sanded, edges softened with smooth radii, and proportions adjusted down to the smallest detail.

The final stage is the application of microconcrete. This finish enhances the architectural character of the piece, giving it a tactile depth and a strong material presence.

In its silhouette, Walker resembles a giant walking machine — part engineering object, part sculpture. Despite its visual mass, the table retains a sense of balance and lightness. Its character is built on contrasts: technology and craftsmanship, monumentality and functionality, imagination and everyday life.

Walker is more than a desk.

It is an object capable of shaping the space around it.
