A cinematic shot is a directed shot. It’s decided before you render anything: lens, light, motion, composition, mood. The render is the last 10% of the work.

3 tools I use before I touch the software:
☑️Shotdeck. The largest searchable library of frames from movies. Filter by lens, light, color.

☑️Eyecandy. A free library of cinematic techniques with video examples.

☑️Frame Set. A curated frame library for commercials and music videos.

because it felt like the honest way to do it, and it took me a while to notice that was also the thing keeping my rates flat. Billing by time basically tells a client that my hours are the product, except they aren’t, the real product is all the experience I’ve built up and everything I know, going into whatever I’m developing for them.

snezhananyc She’s been with me for fourteen years 👉
A cyborg muse stuck between the real and the digital world. She first appeared when I was a fashion designer. She followed me into teaching. She’s still here now, a few years into running a CG studio and directing cinematics in Unreal Engine. Same muse and obsession with transformation, with the strange tenderness between humans and the technology we’re merging with.
I used to think I needed several lifetimes to create CGI films. So I postponed it for years. I told myself it wasn’t the right time.
If you have an image you can’t stop returning to, a character, a world, a mood, a feeling you’ve been trying to make real since you were younger, that’s not a phase, that’s the thing.
I’m finally going to start sharing how it actually gets made. The studio, the cinematics, the digital fashion, the 3D characters, the art direction behind all of it, the fashion-and-film lineage I came through. The whole industry is arguing about AI right now, about how things get made. The real question was always what, and why.

snezhananyc We brought PAC-MAN’s history to life. From arcade screens to Unreal Engine 🕹📽

For this cinematic, we were invited by the super talented director Miles Cable @milescable to celebrate the anniversary of the gaming’s most iconic title.

We developed the characters from scratch, including sculpting, custom texturing, Metahuman and Unreal Engine work, and creating custom digital clothing. Every movement was captured in-house with a professional actor wearing our Xsens suit @movellaent. Special thanks to @sense4motionen

AVA Studio @_archy_zi_ handled character animation, keyframe hands animation, jewelry simulation, and mocap clean-up — making sure every shot felt alive and authentic.

It was a whirlwind of tight deadlines, prop–hand animation challenges, and deep research into PAC-MAN player styles across the decades… but seeing the final piece made it all worth it.

snezhananyc Our recent work with the fantastic crew at @fuze.studios and @astonmartinf1

We had so much fun designing and creating the secret underground facility where the new AMR25 F1 car was put through extreme challenges, taking the environments, platforms, and test equipment to the next level.
My studio, in partnership with AVA Studio, handled detailed 3D environment creation, Unreal Engine optimization, and a dynamic environment transformation sequence in Houdini.
