He sleeps, so I craft! ✨ Building a cozy miniature bed for my sleepy amigurumi dragon.
You all loved this little guy so much, I decided it was time to upgrade his nap spot. For this project, I combined my favorite crochet techniques with mixed media.
Here is how I made it:
📖 Bound pages using real paper and cardboard.
🧶 Crocheted a tiny, textured book cover.
🤏 Used tweezers and infinite patience to spell out "How to Sleep" with tiny yarn pieces! 😅

Whenever people see my tiny amigurumi, the first question is usually: "Wow, your eyesight must be incredible! Do you use a magnifying glass?"
Actually... it's the exact opposite! 😅

I have terrible eyesight (-7.5!), and taking out my contact lenses is my ultimate micro-crochet hack. Being so severely nearsighted gives me natural "macro-vision." When I hold my work close to my face, everything is in sharp, perfect focus, allowing me to see every single microscopic stitch on my 0.5mm hook without any extra tools! ✨

So yes, these tiny pocket-sized friends (and their custom wire glasses 🤓) are made by someone who is practically blind from a distance!

Whenever I post my tiny toys, the # 1 question I get is: "What yarn do you use?!" Here is my secret! 👇

For the absolute smallest characters: 🧵 I separate just ONE strand of regular cotton embroidery floss. 🪡 I pair it with a 0.5 mm hook.

For slightly larger miniatures: 🧵 I use cotton lace thread (size 20 or 30) or wool embroidery floss. 🪡 I pair it with a 0.75 mm hook.
It takes a lot of patience to get used to these tiny hooks, but the result is so incredibly detailed and cute! 🤎
