victoria_semykina Made this painting in Barcelona a couple of hours before my flight home, which was either very brave or very stupid. Possibly both. Apparently, I sometimes need an extremely short deadline to produce something halfway decent. Do you have this problem too, or is it just me? If you want to see the process at normal speed, the actual view I painted, and all the nerdy details about materials, you’re very welcome on my Patreon. Small but important news: I’ll be raising prices for new patrons very soon (existing patrons, please relax — you’re safe). So if you’ve been thinking about joining, now is the moment, especially the yearly subscription, which costs roughly the price of one coffee per month ☕️
victoria_semykina Just some portraits
victoria_semykina One of my favorite works - made ages ago, still one of the most popular in my shop. Link in bio and stories, if you'd like a little well- behaved company at home
victoria_semykina Dear friends, the original works from the Anni Albers book I made for MoMA are out in the world. On view until Feb 9 at the Giannino Stoppani Library ( one of my favorites in Bologna). Right in the heart of Bologna, and dangerously full of excellent books!
victoria_semykina For those of you who celebrate Christmas today, I wish you a truly magical holiday ✨ This year, for the first time in my life, I celebrated both Christmas (yes, I’m a sly bitch and I celebrate them all), New Year’s Eve, and my birthday in Thailand. A completely different experience — strange, warm, and unexpectedly lovely. And yet, in a plot twist no one asked for, I find myself missing the snow. Evidently, even paradise has its flaws...
victoria_semykina Another piece from my exhibition in Barcelona: a postcard glove with Plaça Reial on it. These postcards are basically little messages my past self sent to my future self — a way to remind me of all those moments I lived in this incredible city. Actually, I think this could potentially be an interesting project—to exchange art postcards with a friend. In this case, I would try sending a glove like this with new stamps and no packaging, just as it is, to see if it works. Has anyone tried something like this?
victoria_semykina Yuhooo! Just wanted to let you know I’ve put together a new illustrated calendar with plenty of this year’s sketches! ⠀ I think it makes a lovely Christmas gift for a friend, or for yourself if you’re in the mood for a small seasonal treat. ⠀ There’s also a 25% offer valid for one week only! ⠀ You can find the link in my profile. If you’re in the US or Canada, follow the second link in my profile—it’s labeled “For the US and Canada” and has a slightly different format, with the week starting on Sunday. I hope you'll like it! ⠀ #calendar2026 #illustratedcalendar2026 #drawncalendar
victoria_semykina Finally, I found some time to make a video about my Colour Course in Barcelona! Better late than never, I suppose. It’s so nice—and almost unbelievable—to see us sketching outside in T-shirts, soaking up the Spanish sun. Huge thanks to Fosforito for the invitation, and to all the wonderful artists who trusted me with all the crazy experiments we did. You were far too talented and somehow made the chaos feel entirely professional. I’m gonna miss you all... ***Endless gratitude to Giulia and Miguel for their help and the footage!
victoria_semykina Here are a few sneak peeks from the opening of my exhibition in Barcelona! Huge thanks to everyone who came and patiently listened to my chaotic speech. Endless gratitude to @tallerfosforito Miguel, and Giulia for keeping everything delightfully afloat. By the way, the exhibition runs until Nov. 7, and—rare event alert—some originals are actually looking for new homes. Please contact Miguel for opening hours and other thrilling details
victoria_semykina Dear friends, Today, I’m happy to invite you to my personal exhibition at the magnificent Fosforito gallery @tallerfosforito in Barcelona. I dragged along a pile of originals, some new work, and, unavoidably, myself;) At 18:00 I’ll give a talk (a few seats left), but from 19:00 to 21:00 we’ll just be standing around. My book in Spanish will also be available! See you tonight at Carrer de Bruniquer, 29, Gràcia, 08024 Barcelona
victoria_semykina The drawing process of my piece for the @prixnenuphar The idea struck me in the most glamorous of places: the hairdresser’s waiting room. Fortunately, I had a sketchbook, so I made some scribbles. And no, before you ask, it wasn’t in the men’s hall, and tragically, the wolf wasn’t in the chair getting a trim.. But if you’d like to witness how a doodle devolved into the final piece — versions, references, and yes, the actual speed video — it’s all hiding on my Patreon (link in stories)
