novikovnikolay I’m excited to share my new zoom lens, the @rokinon / @samyanglensglobal Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8. I’ve been a fan of this brand for a while now. I already own their AF 14mm f/2.8 prime lens, which has helped me capture some incredible shots, including one that won first place in a major photo contest.

I love ultra-wide lenses, but since I don’t use them all the time for commercial work, it didn’t make sense to carry the 14mm prime lens in my bag constantly. For the past four years, the widest lens I’ve had has been the 24mm f/1.8 AF. But I’ve finally found a worthy and practical alternative.

This new lens is surprisingly lightweight and compact, taking up very little space in my bag while giving me the best of both worlds: a 14mm focal length, which I love for creative shots, and a 24mm, which is perfect for my commercial work.

An added bonus is that despite being an ultra-wide lens, it has a filter thread, which is a rare and fantastic feature. This means I can use a protective filter, a polarizer, or even a Black Mist filter.
