Yep call me crazy for arranging a funeral for a «rat» in -25°C winters in Russia, but to me, she was family. We once saved her from a snake that was about to eat her, and after that, she was always by my side, showing me love and reminding me I was never alone. I’m a homebody, and every evening, she would kiss me on the lips, lie on my stomach, and in those moments, it felt like the whole world belonged only to the two of us.
I realized we can’t save the whole world and honestly, we don’t need to but we can make our own little world better, and it’s a mutual process. With this pet, we had the perfect bond, and she was always on my shoulder, even when I was filming content or traveling.
No matter how far we drift from nature, we’re still a part of it. And in those painful moments, you remember that simple truth. In the end, the pain fades, and all that’s left is gratitude for the journey we shared and the chance to experience it. Don’t be afraid to love, even if it’s not forever. The important thing is the story you create, and it’s just for you two.
I’m so grateful to have this story with my little rat, Angel. Thank you to her for it and to my friends who helped with the funeral. I’m so thankful to everyone for the support. I didn’t expect such a response. Love you all. Let’s keep living.
