evgenia_ermilova How does sculptural painting differ from classical bas-relief? At first glance, nothing. The three-dimensional image protrudes from the plane of the picture, sometimes even more than half of its volume, as in high relief. But the difference is hidden not in the result, but in the technology of creating this image. I do not argue, the finished image is a high relief or a bas-relief, as you prefer, but it is created according to certain new laws that did not exist 10 years ago. Yes, sculptural painting is already 10 years old this year, as is my Instagram account.

Чем скульптурная живопись отличается от классического барельефа? С первого взгляда ничем. Объемное изображение выступает из плоскости картины, иногда даже больше чем на половину своего объема как в горельефе. Но разница скрыта не в результате, а в технологии создания этого изображения. Не спорю, готовое изображение это горельеф или барельеф, как вам больше нравится, но создается он по определенным новым законам, которых небыло еще 10 лет назад. Да, скульптурной живописи в этом году уже 10 лет, как и моему акаунту в инстаграм.

evgenia_ermilova It used to be easier, I didn't know what and how it should be, so I drew as it turned out, and corrected mistakes when the work was ready if I saw that something went wrong. Now I have to think through everything to the smallest detail: color, composition, shape of flowers... and I really want to relax and do something where it takes me...

Раньше было проще, я не знала что и как должно быть, поэтому рисовала как получится, а ошибки исправляла по готовности работы если видела что что-то пошло не так. Теперь же приходится продумывать все до мелочей: цвет, композицию, форму цветов... а так хочется расслабиться, и сделать что-то куда вывезет...

evgenia_ermilova Why are your petals thin and mine thick?

A frequent question from my students at the school of sculpture painting.
◾️Of course, the physical thickness of the petal matters and there are several conditions that, if met, will help you achieve thinness.
◾️But at the same time, if the petal is too thin, it will not stay upright, so thickness is a relative concept.
❗️ In sculpture painting, a thin petal is more of an optical illusion. It occurs due to the thin, neat edge of the petal. If you wrinkle the edge, disturb the fleecy edge, the petal will immediately look thick and rough.

Почему у Вас лепестки тонкие, а у меня толстые?

Частый вопрос моих учеников в школе скульптурной живописи.
◾️Конечно, физическая толщина лепестка имеет значение и есть несколько условий, выполняя которые, вы добьётесь тонкости.
◾️Но, в тоже время, если лепесток будет слишком тонким, то он не будет держаться вертикально, поэтому толщина это понятие относительное.
❗️В скульптурной живописи тонкий лепесток это скорее обман зрения, иллюзия. Она возникает благодаря тонкому аккуратному краю лепестка. Стоит помять край, нарушить ворсистую кромку и лепесток тут же будет смотреться толстым и грубым.

evgenia_ermilova Yesterday I had 2 men at once 😅 at a master class in Mumbai.
In just 10 years, there were 5 of them out of 7,000 female students. My personal record. So sculptural painting is starting to conquer the male population of the planet!
But seriously, it's very nice, thanks to my students for such a wonderful first working day.

It was long, difficult, but we did it, wonderful roses, wonderful people, I'm so happy to visit India again.

Вчера у меня было сразу 2ое мужчин 😅 на мастер-классе в Мумбае.
Всего за 10 лет их было 5ро из 7000 учениц. Мой личный рекорд. Так что скульптурная живопись начинает покорять и мужское население планеты!
А если серьезно, то это очень мило, спасибо моим ученикам и ученицам за такой прекрасный первый рабочий день.
Было долго, трудно, но мы справились, чудесные розы, чудесные люди, я так счастлива вновь посетить Индию.

evgenia_ermilova Yesterday I had a dream that I died and my Instagram was disabled, I was erased as if I had never existed. And then I started crying... I cried in my dream because I would have to create a new account and promote it, prove that it was me, that same Ermilova. And then I stopped crying and went to the cemetery to take a photo at my grave, to prove to the whole world that I was still alive...

Well, enough about psychological problems, let's look at my next creative experiment... I finished the picture in between depression and "Grounded"

Вчера мне приснился сон что я умерла и мой инстаграм отключили, меня стерли словно никогда и небыло. И тогда я заплакала... я плакала во сне из-за того, что мне придется заводить новый акаунт и его раскручивать, доказывать что это я, та самая Ермилова. И тогда я перестала плакать и отправилась на кладбище чтобы сфотографироваться у своей могилы, что бы доказать всему миру что я еще жива...

Ну хватит о психологических проблемах, лучше посмотрим мой очередной творческий эксперимент... домучила в перерывах между депрессией и "граундэд".

evgenia_ermilova Скульптурная живопись любит боковое освещение, свет "в лоб" мгновенно "убивает" весь объем. Рельеф и вся прелесть теряются. Но, к сожалению, не всегда у заказчика есть возможность организовать нужную подсветку картине.
Поэтому я давно хотела создать работу, которая бы заранее была с нужным освещением.
А когда я увидела арт-борды от Татьяны Дорошенко @tree_art_ekb одной из моих первых учениц и теперь уже успешного производителя заготовок для творчества, поняла: это именно то, что нужно!
