Hi, everyone! Every so often, I like to reintroduce myself, and since this is my first post of 2025, let’s start with a fresh hello!
I’m Daria, though you can call me Dasha if you prefer. I’m a fine art portrait photographer, but what does that really mean? It means I value the artistic side of photography most of all. Through the interplay of light, texture, and emotion, I aim to create visual poetry. Every image is a narrative, every session a collaboration to bring meaning and symbolism to life.
I gravitate toward shooting on location because the backdrop isn’t just a setting, it’s part of the story. A whisper of wind through the trees, the texture of a ruin, or the glow of the dusk sky, these aren’t just details; they’re characters in the tale we’re telling.

I’m based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I’m able to travel anywhere. I moved here in 2016 and now we call it our home.
Photography is my full time job and my passion, but it’s not my only interest in life. I’m in my second year of working on my novel, though I don’t have any ambitions to publish it, I just really enjoy writing. I also love perfumes and can talk about different fragrances for hours. Music is another huge influence in my life as well as going for long walks with no particular plan.
